Guillaume Apollinaire was a French poet and art critic. Cleared of his charges, Apollinaire enlisted in WWI to redeem his name. He wrote poetry in the trenches with bombs exploding around him. The photograph on the label shows Apollinaire with his bandaged head after his injury.

Blended with a small amount of Traminette to boost aromatics, this is an expressive wine with notes of black cherry, spices and warm cedar, with a touch of vanilla and caramel on the finish. Pair with BBQ, grilled vegetables, or Mediterranean cuisine.

  • 2022 Joan of Arc Malbec

Notes: elegant, violets, slate, tobacco, smoke

Georges de Feure, a French painter, depicted Joan of Arc in this poster design, a medieval peasant girl who, guided by visions of archangels, dressed as a man and led the French to victory over the English before finally being captured by the Burgundians, allies of the English, and burned at the stake.

Georges de Feure’s depiction of Jeanne d’Arc is the inspiration for our mysterious yet grounded Malbec, produced from Lake Michigan Shore grapes hand-picked, fermented, then aged in French oak for one year in Baroda, expressing notes of lilac, black plum, and smoke. Pair with rustic dishes such as lentil galettes, mushroom pizza, or chile rellenos. 100% Malbec.
